This month with UDC ... the latest truck industry news and economic update with Cam Bagrie.
We attend the Intertruck Distributors launch event of the latest brand to come into their fold, the China-sourced FAW range of medium-heavy and heavy-duty trucks. On a rainy Friday evening in November we chatted with managing director Comer Board on what it all means and what's coming our way, we join in on a vehicle walk around of a JH6 model with salesman Shaun Jury, and finish up with an address from regional representative for FAW, Mr Clinton Zhou.
Just over a year ago the New Zealand Trucking Association (NTA), in conjunction with the National Road Carriers (NRC), Success Formula, Fit for Duty, Autosense, and the ACC grants program, launched the HARMfree portal – an online enabler and tool chest targeted at helping SMEs meet health and safety compliance requirements within the road transport industry. With 300-plus sign-ons serving 80,000 employees, programme head John Sansom discusses the latest addition to the suite – RAW, short for Recovery at Work.
There's a whole new world heading our way, and whether we like it or not, we need to find out more about it so we're ready. Powering On talks to people in the know and those who have already headed off on a new propulsion journey. We aim to make it not too techy, delivering useful information for those who will still be responsible for delivering our new tomorrow. This month, New Zealand Trucking magazine editor Gavin Myers tells us all about living with a JAC N60 EV for a week.
Our resident Business, Together business columnist Roylance Watson from accounting firm Vazy Child in Hamilton picks topics from her writings to share on the UDC Business of Trucking podcast. This month, the mystical world of marketing, and we learn when it comes to good messaging habits, there's not the gap we think there is between then an now.
Clear the Air is the section where co-host Dave McCoid and his good mate and environmental champion Lindsay Wood discuss the climate and environmental issues of the day, as they should be discussed – respectfully!
This month, we chat about Lindsay's column in the November issue 'Trying to play our energy cards right, and revisit the intriguing Energy Cost of Energy concept.' Is it a first of Mother Natures own cards?
Enjoy!
